Groups & Workshops
Professional development for therapists training in Deep Brain Reorienting, with a geographical focus on Australasia and Southeast Asia.
Consultation groups provide an opportunity to build community and continue your learning with guidance from an Approved DBR Consultant between and beyond the core trainings.
Bring cases for consultation and questions about DBR theory and practice to explore alongside other therapists at a similar stage of development.
Groups are typically organised by training level and scheduled as a series of monthly sessions.
Occasional workshops are also offered from time to time in response to community needs and interests.
Group & Workshop Information
-
Enrolments are open to registered mental health professionals who have completed DBR Levels 1 or above, with a geographical focus on Australasia and Southeast Asia.
Due to professional indemnity insurance limitations, I'm unable to offer services to therapists attending from the US or Canada.
A global directory of Approved DBR Consultants is available on the DBR website.
-
Fundamental groups focus on the Levels 1 and 2 training curriculum, supporting you to build confidence with foundational skills and concepts as you begin to integrate DBR into your clinical practice.
-
Developing Practitioner groups support Level 3 trained therapists in consolidating core knowledge and skills while developing competencies in applying DBR with more complex presentations.
-
Established Practitioner groups are for more experienced DBR therapists, such as Approved Practitioners and senior training assistants. With a greater emphasis on peer consultation, these groups focus on deepening your knowledge and understanding of DBR theory and practice while developing proficiency in using DBR with a broad range of clinical presentations.
-
Self-forming groups can also be arranged for groups of three to four colleagues who are trained to a similar level.
-
Fees are based on the rates suggested by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and are advertised on the group event pages.
Reduced rates are available for therapists in lower income countries. Contact me for details.
Payment
Consultation group fees are invoiced and payable after each attended session. Workshop fees are payable at the time of enrolment.
Terms
Fees are subject to change and are adjusted annually on 1 July in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
-
Participants commit to attending all sessions within a consultation group series when enrolling, with no charge for occasional unavoidable absences. Contact me directly, ahead of the session, if you're unable to attend.
Please aim to provide at least two weeks' notice if you need to cancel your enrolment in a group or workshop that has not yet commenced, so that your place can be offered to others.

Deep Brain Reorienting
DBR is a neuroscience-informed trauma psychotherapy developed by Frank Corrigan.
This interview provides a helpful introduction to working with trauma through DBR and is highly recommended. You can also explore clinical research being conducted by Dr Ruth Lanius and her team at Western University in Canada, or visit the DBR website for further information.
