Private practice
I established my private practice in Kamberri/Canberra in 2008 and have worked with a wide range of client groups across my career, including police officers, foreign affairs personnel, and members of the Australian Defence Force.
Move to Melbourne in 2022
In early 2022, I moved my private practice to Naarm/Melbourne and took on an additional role with the University of Melbourne Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS) until early 2025.
At CAPS, I supervised intern and registrar psychologists, delivered training and consultancy, and provided culturally responsive counselling, trauma psychotherapy, and group programs for domestic and international students. I also held a dedicated position within the LGBTIQA+ counselling team and worked from the Southbank campus within the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music.
From 2022 to 2023, I also had the privilege of supporting Melbourne’s broader LGBTIQA+ community in a year-long volunteer peer counsellor position at Thorne Harbour Health.
Early career in Canberra and NSW
Earlier in my career, I held various clinical and non-clinical roles at the Australian National University (ANU) student counselling service, a regional adult specialist mental health service, and two mental health community support services.

Somatic psychotherapy
I became a certified practitioner of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) in 2016, following six years of comprehensive training in Sydney and Melbourne (Levels 1 to 3), complemented by additional training in London on the application of SP for complex trauma and dissociation.
During this period, I also assisted in SP Level 1 and 2 courses, was mentored by Dr Andy Harkin in an SP trainer-in-training role, and completed additional training in Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment and other psychodynamic and interpersonal neurobiology modalities, building on earlier studies in various cognitive-behavioural and mindfulness-based approaches.
Deep Brain Reorienting
I continued to be supervised by Andy Harkin following my certification in SP, who introduced me to Dr Frank Corrigan's work in Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) in 2020. Between 2021 and 2022 I completed DBR Level 1 to 3 courses with Frank and was also fortunate to participate in a monthly experiential training group from 2022 to 2024.
Since 2022, I've also assisted Frank and Andy in several online and in-person courses, and attend regular supervision groups with Frank in DBR therapy and consultation.
Somatic movement education
My practice of DBR and somatic psychotherapy has been further supported by ongoing training in a Body-Mind Centering® Somatic Movement Educator certification program that I commenced in 2019, as well as additional courses, classes, and workshops with Olive Bieringa, Alice Cummins, Sandra Kay Lauffenburger, and Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen.
Additional training
Another focus of my professional development in recent years has been building my competencies in LGBTIQA+ affirming and culturally responsive mental health care, as well as small group teaching and relationally oriented supervision.
Other somatic and contemplative practices
Foundational workshops on the principles of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, and contemplative practices cultivated through yoga, meditation, qigong, ecosomatics, and dance, have also shaped my treatment philosophy and enriched my professional journey.
