Consultation & Training
For mental health professionals based in Australasia and Southeast Asia
Deep Brain Reorienting Consultation Groups
Build community and continue your learning between and beyond the core DBR trainings.
Bring cases for consultation and questions about DBR theory and practice to explore with peers at a similar stage of development. Groups are modelled around the training curriculum and typically scheduled as a series of monthly online sessions.
Group Information
-
Enrolments are open to registered mental health professionals who have completed DBR Levels 1 or above, with a geographical focus on Australasia and Southeast Asia.
Due to professional indemnity insurance limitations, I'm unable to offer services to therapists attending from the US or Canada.
A global directory of Approved DBR Consultants is available on the DBR website.
-
Fundamental groups focus on the Levels 1 and 2 training curriculum, supporting you to build confidence with foundational skills and concepts as you begin to integrate DBR into your clinical practice.
-
Developing Practitioner groups support Level 3 trained therapists in consolidating core knowledge and skills while developing competencies in applying DBR with more complex presentations.
-
Established Practitioner groups are for more experienced DBR therapists, such as Approved Practitioners and senior training assistants. With a greater emphasis on peer consultation, these groups focus on deepening your knowledge and understanding of DBR theory and practice while developing proficiency in using DBR with a broad range of clinical presentations.
-
Self-forming groups can be arranged for three to four colleagues, co-ordinated by a nominated group member.
-
Fees are based on the rates suggested by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and advertised on the group event listing.
A sliding fee scale is available for therapists in lower income countries – contact me for details.
Payment
Fees are invoiced and payable after each attended session.
Terms
Fees are subject to change and are adjusted annually on 1 July in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
-
Participants commit to attending all sessions within a consultation group series when enrolling, with no charge for occasional unavoidable absences. Contact me directly, ahead of the session, if you're unable to attend.
Please aim to provide at least two weeks' notice if you need to cancel your enrolment in a group that has not yet commenced, so that your place can be offered to others.

Dr Dan Costin
Approved DBR Consultant supervised by Dr Frank Corrigan
I'm a clinical psychologist working with adults in private practice, drawing from somatic and neuroscience-informed approaches that attend to the relational, cultural, and physiological dimensions of mental health and wellbeing.
Deep Brain Reorienting
Developed by Dr Frank Corrigan, DBR is a transformational trauma psychotherapy that aims to access and process unresolved experiences by tracking the sequence of physiological responses that occurred when the deep brain was initially alerted to a threat or attachment disruption.
This conversation with Frank and DBR Trainer Sarah Jenkins provides an accessible overview of DBR and how it can support the healing of PTSD and other trauma-related conditions.
